Senior Ball 2015

Senior Ball 2015
I attended two Senior Balls this year and two Junior Proms last year - two mine, two my handsome man's. It's a night of our young lives that I believe rivals a wedding; everything is expected to be perfect, there's supposed to be magic in the air, and everyone is going to be dressed to the nines (and tens). Well, that's not how it really is. Now that I've graduated High School and am moving on to college this upcoming fall, I want to share some of my experiences in High School. One of the greatest (and worst) was the dances. Junior Proms were fun. Everyone looked fab, I LOVED my dress (the gray one pictured below) and it was the first time I'd really dressed up. I had so much fun with friends and my man, the night was really unforgettable. There were unfortunate downsides, of course, and things I learned quickly that would benefit me the following year for my Senior Ball. They are as follows...

1. Your transportation to Prom/Ball isn't the most important thing. Getting there isn't important; being there is. For my prom we took a party bus, for ball we just used cars. It was cheaper, and the money could be spent in other places, like on my glorious lovely dress or just tucked away for college. Then, of course, the greatest lesson I learned was how...

2. You honestly have to make your own fun at prom/ball. The venue is set there for you decorated to perfection, but the setting won't create memories for you. You have to make sure you're having fun and creating your own memories with your group of friends, date, or even some new people.

3. You're going to sweat. I wore a giant puffy dress to my Senior Ball and at the end of the night I couldn't wait to take the darn thing off, I has sweat so much from dancing. There's a crowd of teenagers in layers and poofy dresses - of course you'll sweat!! Unless you have super-mega professional makeup, your makeup will get a bit messy by the end of the night. I suggest bringing some to touch up, or some blotting sheets to keep yourself looking fabulous as the hours keep rolling.

4. The music might suck. The music at my proms and balls was just a bunch of rap and hip hop - not my taste at all. There were no slow songs, and the music was a great disappointment. I still danced, but I would have enjoyed more variety. All in all, it'll be a memorable night no matter what happens, good or bad. I hope anyone out there with an upcoming event like these has a fantastic time.
